Geelong will adopt a “back to basics” approach against Carlton on Sunday, according to Rhys Stanley.
The Cats are coming off a shock 24-point loss to Collingwood last weekend, and they’re desperate to get back on the winners’ list against the Blues.
“We let ourselves go a little bit with the basics last week,” Stanley told a press conference at Simonds Stadium on Thursday.
"We were pretty disappointed with our performance. It wasn't to our standard that we hold ourselves to.
“I know it’s an old cliché, but it really is for us back to concentrating on our defence and the simple things."
Looking the future, Stanley is excited about the prospect of fellow big man Mitch Clark returning to action via the VFL on Sunday week.
"It'd be awesome to play alongside Mitch and Tommy and Zac and the rest of the guys that are there already," Stanley said.
