Lincoln McCarthy
Has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury in the win over West Coast in round seven. Has also been battling a hip flexor issue. Will be aiming to prove his fitness on the training track this week.
Tom Ruggles
Was named in the Cats' team to play Carlton and was still in the side after the team sheet was handed in on Sunday, but ended up withdrawing from the team after an eye infection began troubling him during the pre-game warm-up. Providing the eye problem clears up, he will be very much in contention to line up against Greater Western Sydney at Simonds Stadium on Saturday evening.
Daniel Menzel
Was 'managed' on the weekend after suffering some soreness following the round eight win over the Crows at the Adelaide Oval. Is a near certainty to return to face the Giants.
George Horlin-Smith
Won a much-deserved call-up for the clash with Collingwood at the MCG but was then dropped after battling to have an impact. Was unable to play at any level over the weekend due to the VFL Cats having a bye.
Jed Bews
Was dropped from the Cats' AFL team after struggling against the Magpies. Like Horlin-Smith, he was unable to press his case on the weekend due to the VFL Cats having a bye.
Nathan Vardy
Has been battling to find his best form in the VFL, but remains in contention for an AFL call-up if the coaching staff decide to change the mix of big men in the team.
