There won't be any AFL footy to watch this weekend, but the VFL Cats are aiming to put on a good show in their elimination final against Essendon on Saturday afternoon at North Port Oval.
The match will present a number of AFL-listed players, including Darcy Lang and Shane Kersten, with the chance to press their case for a call-up to play Hawthorn in the Cats' AFL qualifying final on September 9.
Shane O'Bree's VFL team is coming off an impressive victory over Port Melbourne (you can watch the highlights of the win over Port by clicking on the video player at the top of the page).
The win resulted in the VFL Cats finishing fifth on the ladder with an 11-7 win-loss record.
The Bombers finished eighth with a 10-8 record.
Saturday's match between the VFL Cats and Essendon, which kicks off at 2.40pm, will be telecast by Channel 7.
