Scott Selwood has been cleared to play by Geelong’s medical staff and will begin his career in hoops via the VFL next week.
The 26-year-old former Eagle has endured a lengthy rehabilitation program following significant ankle surgery in the off-season, but Cats head physio Mark Young told this week’s episode of nib Medical Room that Selwood will play after this week’s bye.
“Scott Selwood is ready to go,” Young said.
“He’s pencilled in for a return game after the bye. All indications are he’s training well and looking comfortable.”
In further good news, Nakia Cockatoo returned from a knee injury last week and was extremely polished in managed game-time.
“Nakia ended up playing a half of football out at Williamstown and we were really confident with how he moved,” Young added.
“He’s pulled up well so he’ll look for more game time after the bye.”
