GEELONG has named its 29-man squad for Thursday night's NAB Challenge game against Adelaide at Simonds Stadium, with Joel Selwood, George Horlin-Smith and Jared Rivers to have their first competitive hit-outs of the season.
A minor leg injury forced Selwood to miss the Cats' narrow loss to Gold Coast in Townsville on March 1, but the skipper has trained strongly in recent days.
Horlin-Smith (hip) and Rivers (knee) also missed the clash with the Suns due to minor injuries.
The Cats have named a strong and experienced squad overall, with premiership players Jimmy Bartel, Harry Taylor, Andrew Mackie, Corey Enright, Mathew Stokes, Tom Lonergan, Tom Hawkins, Mitch Duncan and James Kelly to back up after making the trip to north Queensland.
Three youngsters who played against Gold Coast – Jake Kolodjashnij, Michael Luxford, Padraig Lucey – have been left out of the squad to face the Crows.
Three more players will be cut from the squad on game-day.
Thursday's game begins at 7.10pm. Cats fans who can't make it to Simonds Stadium can watch the contest on Fox Footy or by signing up for Cats digital membership to get access to all games of the 2015 season including the NAB Challenge series for just $99 for new members or $60 as an add-on for existing members.
