This week Hamish McIntosh joined Andrew Mackie for Argue the Toss where they revisited the Cats shock loss against the Lions in Round 13 this year.

Mackie is confident the Cats wont have a repeat of their last meeting. He admits they have no interest in returning to the past and it’s only about going forward from here on.

“It was un-Geelong like and we’ve moved on from that and we’ve got a lot to play for this weekend, so that will be the focus from where we’re at; we’re living in the moment and not worrying about the past,” Mackie said.

“Brisbane Lions is our next hurdle and we’re going to put everything into that and make sure we do win and get a home final.”

McIntosh believes if the Cats continue to deliver the brand they’ve been producing over the last few weeks they’ll be in a good position for the finals. Although, he says the Lions will be ready for a big fight with eighth position on the horizon.

“I guess you want to keep playing like the boys have been playing, that game was a bit of a lie in the sand moment for the boys and we’ve played a lot better footy since that time and a lot of things came to a head.”

“I think we’re looking for a really big solid performance and to come out and play some good footy going into finals and that’s what you need.

“Brisbane can still make finals so it will be a big game for them if results fall their way, so they’re going to come down with a fair bit of energy and hoping to win because they’re fighting for that eighth or ninth spot.”
