VFL Development squad player Matthew Inglis is recovering from surgery on a broken ankle suffered in Friday night’s VFL practice match at Punt Road Oval.
Inglis was stretchered from the ground in the third quarter after a heavy collision and immediately taken to the Epworth Hospital.
The 19-year-old underwent surgery on Saturday and was discharged from hospital early on Monday.
“It’s really disappointing for Matt, he showed some good signs this preseason,” Cats VFL Manager Troy Selwood said.
“Matt has returned home to Darley to begin his recovery and will start integrating into the rehab group over the next few months.”
