CHRIS Scott has thrown his support behind the idea that Geelong might one day field its own women's team.
Scott was asked on the latest episode of Tweet The Coach, brought to you by Momentum Energy, whether he could envisage the Cats going down that path.
He replied: "There's a huge appetite within the region for a women's team. There's high participation rates and the club, in principle, are very, very supportive.
"Some people within the region are very keen ... to see Geelong have some representation in the women's game.
"So there is a groundswell of support, and as a club we're well and truly behind it.
"Hopefully it happens soon."
The round 21 episode of Tweet The Coach also includes Scott's thoughts on:
* Whether the Cats deserved to lose Saturday night's clash with the Hawks by six goals
* The progress of Jed Bews in the VFL
* Whether Nathan Vardy is a chance to play in the AFL before Daniel Menzel
* Why it's so hard to counteract Hawthorn's kicking game
