RHYS Stanley is a chance to play his first game for Geelong in Sunday's big clash against Fremantle after being named in the Cats' 25-man squad.

George Horlin-Smith, Jordan Murdoch and Andrew Mackie have also come into the squad, which will be finalised on Friday evening.

Steven Motlop is the only player so far omitted from the team that lost to Hawthorn.

Motlop has been dropped for disciplinary reasons.

Mackie, who missed the loss to the Hawks due to quad soreness, trained on Thursday but will have a further fitness test closer to the game.

Jimmy Bartel has been named but also remains in some doubt.

Bartel suffered a head knock against Hawthorn, although he also trained strongly on Thursday.

Youngsters Cory Gregson and Nakia Cockatoo have both retained their places in the squad despite enduring tough debuts on Easter Monday.

Stanley, who had an interrupted pre-season due to a leg injury, has impressed the coaching staff with his form on the training track in recent weeks.

The former St Kilda big man played his first game in the hoops last weekend when he lined up against Footscray in a VFL practice match. He gathered 12 disposals, registered eight hit-outs and took two marks.
