THE FUN was back in footy for Geelong veteran Steve Johnson at the MCG on Friday night.
Johnson revelled in the Cats' great start to the game, which saw them open a 10-goal lead during the second quarter.
"That's the most I've enjoyed a game for a long time," Johnson told CatsTV after the 41-point victory.
"Everyone was taking their turn to do the hard things, and everyone was getting rewarded.
I loved it when Cory Gregson was kicking a couple of goals. It's just great to see the joy on his face."
Johnson was also happy with his own form. The 31-year-old put his roller-coaster start to the season behind him by racking up 28 disposals, six tackles and a goal.
"I've had some pretty average games in the last month," Johnson admitted.
"I was surprised by the amount of criticism I've copped, but it's been fair and I really wanted to respond tonight and have a good game.
"Hopefully I've taken steps towards getting that confidence back up and going."
