FIVE THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR:

1. 'BORIS' ENRIGHT PLAYING HIS 299TH GAME
The Cats' champion defender has been in sterling form in recent weeks, and he'll again need to be at his best if Geelong is to topple Port Adelaide on Friday night. Everyone at the club is hoping that he not only plays well but also gets through the game unscathed, as a stack of tributes have been planned for his 300th game. All going to plan, he Enright will reach the milestone when the Cats play Melbourne at Simonds Stadium on Sunday week.

2. THE CATS WORKING HARD TO CLOSE DOWN THE POWER
Matthew Knights spoke about the key issues for Geelong when he spoke to CatsTV after the light training session at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night. "Their running power and their precise handball are the things we have to stop," Knights said. "Robbie Gray, Boak, Hartlett and Wines are outstanding players in their own right, so we've got to mitigate some of their work around the contests, but obviously Shulz and Westhoff are dangerous up front as well. It's a big job for our big backs, and we've got to help them out as a forward and midfield group."

3. THE CATS HOLDING THE HEAD-TO-HEAD EDGE
The Cats suffered a 40-point loss to Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval last season. Prior to that, however, they defeated the Power on 10 consecutive occasions, a streak that began with the 119-point flogging of Port in the 2007 Grand Final. Still, there is plenty riding on this match. Both teams are 5-5 after 10 rounds, so it shapes as the classic eight-point contest. "Like last week against Essendon, it another match that's quite critical to the end result at the end of the home and away season," Matthew Knights said. "Even though the end of the home and away season is a long way off, games like this become pretty important."

4. ANOTHER REASON THE CATS CAN WIN

5. MORE GOOD FORM FROM JACKSON THURLOW
The rebounding defender, who grew up in the Tasmanian city of Launceston, has been one of Geelong's most improved players in 2015. He has drawn praise from his teammates and coaches in recent weeks, and his penetrating and accurate kicking should be a key weapon for the Cats on Friday night.
