DANIEL Menzel will make his long-awaited comeback to AFL footy in Friday night's blockbuster clash with Collingwood at the MCG.

The Cats confirmed on Thursday afternoon that the 23-year-old, who has fought back after the heartbreak of four serious knee injuries, has been selected in their team for the match.

"I found out earlier in the week and just had to get through training," Menzel told CatsTV after the club's light training run on Thursday.

"I still am extremely excited, but I guess the nerves and everything else will kick in pretty soon too."
