Speaking on Triple M’s The Hot Breakfast on Wednesday morning, Tom Hawkins says he would love to play if it is safe to do so.

“It is at this stage, certainly we are no different to the general public, we are waiting on information to see whether we can or can’t play,” Hawkins said.

“We have been training and preparing for the last four months to play football and obviously this is very unique and something we have not seen before.”

“We would love to play not because we want to get paid but because we understand the importance of football for our environment and the community."

"If it’s a safe environment for players to play, what an opportunity we have to provide some sort of entertainment for those that are in isolation or lockdown."
