All Australian defender Tom Stewart says the disrupted season will not see the Cats focus drop once the season resumes.
“We have to be ready to go and give it our best shot (when the season resumes) as there’s still a premiership up for grabs this year,” Stewart told Channel Nine news.
“We will be ready for anything. This is nothing that anybody has ever experienced in an AFL season so we have to be ready. We will play each game as it comes and attack each (training) session as it comes.”

Stewart believes the potential of shorter games could even benefit the Geelong line up.
“We have a lot of powerful athletes that are really strong,” Stewart said.
“If the games are shorter it might suit the guys like Joel, Pat and Hawk.”

With the prospect of clubs being grouped in hubs in Victoria or other states, Stewart is hopeful that Geelong will be chosen as one of the regions to house clubs.
“People will come down and see Geelong for the beautiful place it is and maybe we could entertain a few free agents through the period,” he said.
