Cats TV spoke to Tom Lonergan and Scott Gullan on Argue the Toss about the Cats upcoming clash against the Giants.
Even though the Giants haven’t yet been awarded with a victory this year, the Cats will be aiming to achieve an all-round performance, from start to finish.
Lonergan says the Cats want to focus on winning all four quarters during next week’s contest, as it’s something they haven’t been able to engineer since the season began.
“I think the first thing we need, is to put together a four quarter effort.”
“I don’t think we’ve done that all year, we had three good quarters against Port Adelaide and obviously last week against the Suns, we probably had one good quarter, which won us the game.”
Gullan believes if the Cats can win this week’s game against GWS, the Cats will return from their bye in round 13 in a very comfortable position. A position they weren’t able to accomplish this time last year, which unfortunately sent them packing early.
“We got the sense from Selwood and the coach that the start was their focus, because last year they got behind and caught up late,” Gullan explained.
“This year they’ve set it up, they’ve had a brilliant start. Even the loss they had was against an energized Collingwood and they still nearly got there.”
