VFL Cats return to Punt Road
This Sunday the VFL Cats will play the Tigers at Punt Road before the big Cats battle Richmond at the MCG
The VFL Cats will this weekend play their first VFL match at Punt Road Oval (ME Bank Centre) since the year 2000.
On that occasion, a Ron Watt coached Cats line up that included the likes of Corey Enright and Paul Chapman played the nomadic ‘Murray Kangaroos’ who were the VFL affiliate of North Melbourne at the time.
This time around the Cats will face a newly reformed VFL side wearing colors that are much more to suited to the surroundings – the ‘Yellow & Black’ of the Richmond Tigers.
The second tier Cats will take on the VFL Tigers on Sunday 4th of May starting at 11:30am in a ‘dual venue’ curtain raiser to the AFL game being played between the two clubs at the MCG later that day.
Due to the ongoing redevelopment works around Punt Road Oval, there will be a reduced capacity of 2500 people able to access the venue.
Unfortunately, the Jack Dyer Stand is also currently inaccessible, which means undercover seating is unavailable.
As a result it is recommended that the supporters of both clubs get in early. The gates will open at 10.30am.
For fans of either side that cannot attend the match, Richmond Football Club will be live streaming the game with full commentary and score updates on its website richmondfc.com.au<http://richmondfc.com.au/>, or tune into Richmond VFL Radio via the Richmond Football Club official app.
The match will also be tweeted live, follow @GeelongVFL on Twitter for all the action including live scores, stat updates and photos.
