Scott Selwood was a happy man after emerging unscathed from his first game in the hoops.

Selwood racked up 17 disposals and kicked a goal in the VFL Cats' impressive win over the Northern Blues at Preston on Saturday afternoon.

"It was exciting," he said after the game. "I had a few little nerves going out there today, but it was just good to get through and good to have a win."
