The Cats and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) today held talks at Simonds Stadium.
The talks centered around Cats midfielder Billie Smedts' self taken photo from December and its effect on the club's advertising partnership with the TAC.
Following on from the meeting the TAC released the following statement.
The following statement relates to a meeting held today, 16 January, between the TAC and the Geelong Football Club following an incident involving Cats player, Billie Smedts, last month:
- The TAC can confirm that it has met with the CEO of Geelong Football Club, Brian Cook and other key representatives this afternoon.
- It was a productive discussion and the Geelong Football Club acknowledges that the Billie Smedts incident was highly regrettable.
- We are now looking to the future and hope to rebuild our relationship in 2014.
- The TAC expects to receive an advertising partnership proposal in the coming weeks and will consider it on its merit.
