Admiring the club and its culture, theSouth Australian midfielder, Dean Gore, was thrilled that one meeting with theCats was enough to get him a spot on the list.

 

Thursday night, Gore was Geelong’s thirdpick at number 55 in the national draft.

 

“Yeah, it’s an absolute honour to come downto such a good club and they have a great culture here… so I’m privileged tocome down here,” Gore told Cats TV.

 

“I only met with Geelong down at thecombine, so it was only a 30-minute chat with them and that was about it, so Iwasn’t really expecting to come down to Geelong but I’m stoked.”

 

The 183cm player says his experience ofplaying senior football for the Sturt Football Club in the SANFL, where heplayed with former AFL player Richard Tambling, has prepared him well for whatlies ahead.

 

“I reckon it’s helped heaps just being aroundthe likes of (Richard) Tambling, (Zane) Kirkwood and the list goes on and justplaying against senior bodies week in and week out was a massive help to me,”Gore said.

 

Gore was given guernsey number 15 which hisfather was rapt about, as it was the number he wore on his back during his footballdays.
