In the mix versus the Tigers
Which Cats are putting their hand up to take on Richmond on Sunday?
Mitch Brown
Sunday could have been a massive day for Mitch Brown if not for some innacurate kicking. The tall forward finished the day with two goals and six behinds from 21 possessions and eight marks. With the Cats forward line struggling to fire, Brown may be called upon.
Andrew Mackie
Mackie was a withdrawal from the Cats side to play Port Adelaide and his dash and skill were sorely missed. Chris Scott says the Cats will take no risks but Mackie will be given all week to prove his fitness.
Darcy Lang
Lang starred for the Cats in a best on ground performance on Sunday. His 18 touches included a majority contested and in a scrappy affair his skill was a level above. The Cats will hope to see more performances like this from their first round pick.
Jordan Schroder
Schroder was the Cats travelling emergency for the clash with Port but wasn’t required. The Cats have shown this year they aren’t afraid to play someone who missed the week before as emergency. Schroder’s inside work and goal sense could be handy at AFL level.
Dawson Simpson
Big Dawson was dearly missed by the AFL side with his work at ground level and tap work missing from the Cats game. Should his ankle come up good to play, expect Dawson to come straight back in.
Jed Bews
Bews gave his chances a boost for selection with a nice defensive game on Sunday. 14 touches, one goal and a massive spear tackle in the centre square were the highlights of his day.
Steven Motlop
Chris Scott has indicated Motlop will be very likely to come back in to this week’s team after two weeks in the VFL. Nothing needs to be said about what Motlop will bring to the side.
Joel Hamling
In exciting news for the club Joel Hamling is starting to build some very consistent efforts in the VFL team. Now playing solely as a key defender, Hamling finished with ten possessions, five marks and seven spoils on Sunday.
