Sheringham, who has played five games since making his debut in 2012, was recruited to the club from the Geelong VFL side.
After suffering numerous injuries in 2013, a fit Sheringham has enjoyed a solid preseason.
Fellow rookie Mark Blicavs was elevated last week for Nathan Vardy.
