GEELONG’s Gary Ablett was adjudged second best on ground by the coaches in his return game for the Cats.
The three-time former champion of the Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award polled six votes between the two coaches, while Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn was awarded nine votes.
Daniel Menzel and captain Joel Selwood also featured in the votes, polling five votes apiece.
Ablett sparkled in his first game back in the hoops, amassing 39 disposals and kicking a goal on the run in the first term.
Selwood matched Ablett with 39 touches of his own in his 250th game, while Menzel kicked four goals and took a number of strong contested grabs.
