In The Mix vs Dogs
Check out the Cats players putting their hand up for a spot in the AFL side
Mitch Brown
Brown was the Cats stand out defender against the Northern Blues on the weekend finishing with 19 disposals, six marks and eight rebounds from 50. Breaking into the Cats AFL backline is no easy task though with the resilience of Rivers, Mackie, Lonergan and Taylor meaning they rarely miss.
Billie Smedts
Smedts went back to the VFL and impressed the Cats with his defensive work across the ground. The backman finished with 14 disposals, five tackles and five rebounds from 50 in a good performance.
Jesse Stringer
Stringer returned to VFL action after being the Cats travelling emergency on the Gold Coast. Thrust into the midfield, Stringer finished the day with 17 disposals and seven tackles in a classy performance.
Hamish McIntosh
McIntosh missed the Cats win over Essendon with ankle soreness but will be looking to prove his fitness for Sunday’s game. The Cats will be coming up against one of the AFL’s most versatile ruckman in Will Minson this Sunday meaning the Cats will have to decide the right combination or solo ruckman to take him on.
Brad Hartman
The Cats will be thrilled with the work ethic of Brad Hartman who just keeps performing for the Cats VFL side whilst showing he can cut it at AFL level. He finished Sunday with 20 disposals (15 contested), six tackles and five clearances but stats alone don’t register his impact.
