BILLIE Smedts has been ruled out of Sunday’s meeting with Gold Coast at Simonds Stadium after accepting a one-match suspension for striking Fremantle’s Lee Spurr.
Fellow Cat Mitch Duncan has accepted a $1000 fine for tripping Dockers star Nat Fyfe.
Meanwhile, Freo forward Hayden Ballantyne will be sidelined for a fortnight after accepting a two-match ban for rough conduct on Geelong defender Harry Taylor.
Ballantyne received a three-week ban due to his poor disciplinary record but took the early plea to reduce the penalty to two weeks.
It is the feisty 27-year-old’s seventh suspension in his 108-game career.
