Cats duo to stay, says manager
The manager of Trent West and Taylor Hunt says the duo are set to stay at the club despite trade speculation
Both are under contract, but speculation has swirled around ruckman West and tagger Hunt that they may be looking for more opportunities elsewhere.
West, who turned 26 on Thursday, played 13 games last season but none in the finals series after slipping down the pecking order behind Nathan Vardy and Mark Blicavs.
But speaking on AFL.com.au's Gillette Trade Radio, McConville quashed any notion either player would be leaving Simonds Stadium.
"Westy is a contracted player for next year and I see him playing at Geelong next year.
"To be honest, I haven't had formal discussions with any clubs regarding Trent.
"If something was to happen with Trent, it would come from left field. I'm comfortable and so is Trent."
The same goes for 22-year-old Hunt, who missed the preliminary final loss against Hawthorn but played 15 games for the season.
McConville said he would certainly line up for the Cats next year.
