GEELONG star Steven Motlop has revealed he will soon sign a new two-year deal with the Cats.

The brilliant 22-year-old, out of contract at season's end, says a new contract will be finalised in the next fortnight.

"It's all getting done now. I'm pretty happy at Geelong," he told The Sunday Footy Show on Channel Nine.

"We've got a lot of young guys coming up through the VFL that are going to be good players in the future, and I think that's the best part about signing with the club."
The deal forms another key plank of the Cats' future after the club recently secured swingman Harry Taylor to a five-year contract.

Motlop has become one of Geelong's key players with his scintillating speed, elusiveness, creativity and goalsense.

He is in his fifth season with the Cats, who selected him with pick 39 in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft.

After playing a combined five games in 2010 and 2011, his past two seasons have produced 41 games and 62 goals, including 36 this season alone.
