Two of the Cats promising youngsters are in line to play their first games of 2013 this weekend.

Jed Bews and rookie Jackson Sheringham will both look to put their hand up for Saturday's clash with Box Hill at Simonds Stadium.

Bews who has been battling a stress fracture in his foot since the preseason has been training strongly.

"Bewsy’s done a lot of training following the stress fracture in his foot and he looks pretty good and I think you could expect to see him this week." Cats physio Mike Snelling told Cats TV's nib Medical Room.

Sheringham who has played five AFL games for the Cats will have to prove himself on the track this week after overcoming a knee arthroscope.

"Jacko has done really well from his scope." Snelling said.

"He’ll be close as to whether he’s done enough training to warrant a game or not."

The VFL Cats match with Box Hill will be shown on ABC1 in Victoria,
