The AFL’s Brownlow Predictor believes Geelong’s very own skipper will win this year’s Brownlow Medal on 25 votes, followed by ex-teammate Gary Ablett on 24 and Nathan Fyfe on 23.

This year’s All-Australian Captain, Joel Selwood, hasn’t missed a game all year and to be honest he hasn’t missed a beat.

This year’s home-and-away season the 25-year-old midfielder, who has only missed 13 games since his debut in 2007, has more than doubled his scoring power by 16 goals, kicking a total of 28.

Again and again Selwood has proven to the AFL community and beyond that he is a fearless and ruthless player who never surrenders.

This year he averaged a remarkable 25 disposals a game, five clearances and a career best of six tackles with an average of 84% game time.

His predicted Brownlow competitor, Gary Ablett, has had another breakout year averaging 31 disposals per game, five tackles, six clearances and has kicked 28 goals.

Fremantle’s half-forward, Nathan Fyfe, will also give Selwood a tough run on Monday night, with an average of 27 touches per game, three tackles and six clearances this season.

The most Brownlow votes Selwood has ever claimed during his career was back in 2010 when he came equal fourth with Scott Pendlebury from Collingwood on 21 votes.

Carlton’s Chris Judd went on to win the 2010 Brownlow vote count with a high total of 30 votes, followed by Gary Ablett 26 and Dane Swan 24.

However, this year the odds are on our unshakable skipper to take home the AFL’s most prestigious medal this Monday night at the 2013 Brownlow vote count.

From Geelong’s squad this year Mathew Stokes is predicted to fall under Selwood on a total of 13 votes with Harry Taylor and Jimmy Bartel next in line with 12 votes each.

All will be revealed Monday night.
