Walker has been elevated in the place of Lincoln McCarthy who was on the long term injury list.
Mark Blicavs had previously been upgraded for McCarthy but will now be the Cats nominated mid-year rookie elevation instead.
Walker had played seven games for the Cats in 2012 and was elevated at the start of this year before injuring his AC joint in round one of the VFL.
