Last week’s votes has placed Geelong’s skipper, Joel Selwood, in fourth position on the AFLca Champion Player of the Year leaderboard, with 78 votes.

Selwood received a total of 10 votes from senior coaches, Chris Scott, and, Ken Hinkley, for another nearly flawless performance during the Cats 25-point win over Port.

Selwood kicked the first goal for the Cats on Saturday and went on to creating a new career best for him self with four goals overall, along with 28 possessions, 12 marks and six clearances.  

Next in line to receive five votes from senior coaches was young Cat Steven Motlop, who was also nominated for his courageous goal by the AFL.  

Cameron Guthrie and Steve Johnson followed with two votes and Corey Enright received one.
