Richmond’s senior coach, Damein Hardwick, is looking forward to Saturday night’s clash against the Cats at the MCG.

It’s been seven years since the Tigers defeated the Cats back in 2006 at Simonds stadium, where they celebrated a 20-point victory.

Hardwick believes tomorrow night’s match will be another tough contest and a great challenge for the Tigers.

“There is no doubt about that, they’ve been a quality outfit from 2007 onwards, and we had a close game last year obviously,” Hardwick told www.richmondfc.com.au

Despite Richmond’s dry spell against the Cats, Hardwick is confident the Tigers can rise to the test and play some quality footy.

“With a formidable outfit we are certainly looking forward to the opportunity to play them, we think it will bring out our best footy and we think we’re capable of getting a result,” Hardwick said.

Nevertheless, Hardwick realises the Tigers will have to tackle hard to compete against the Cats fast pace.

“They play very fast footy, they’re upbeat and they play on very quickly, so no doubt the tackle pressure will be a big one for us this week,” Hardwick explained.

“They’re (Cats) playing good footy, I think Chris made some interesting comments last week that they are certainly areas of the game that he thinks they can work on, I’d certainly like to be saying that and sitting at five zip at the same time.”
