Cats TV catches up with Chris Scott for this week’s Tweet the Coach to discuss a number of topics, including the return of Paul Chapman and his reaction to Steve Johnson’s suspension.

Scott admits that it’s going to be a very difficult task when it comes to selecting their best 22 for the final series of the season.

Although, he did feel confident about one thing and that is, if the Cats veteran Paul Chapman gets back to where he was when he left, he’ll be a hard candidate to ignore.

“I think when we hopefully get all our players available towards the end of the season it’s going to be very difficult to pick a 22 full stop, but we’ve got extreme confidence in Chappy,” Scott said.

“Not only in the very big games where he’s an important player but in his contribution to the team in general.

“There’s a lot of water to flow under the bridge; Chappy playing VFL footy and showing us he can get somewhere near his best, and I think if he does that he’ll be very hard to keep out of our best 22.”

This week Steve Johnson will miss another week of footy due to his fourth recent suspension for dangerous play.

Scott is adamant that Johnson's on-field conduct must improve and fast.

“He has to - he doesn’t have any choice in the matter,” Scott said.

“We can argue the system and we can argue some antics but the bottom line is Steve has been unavailable for games through relatively innocuous but still silly behaviours.”

Scott concedes that Johnson is more disappointed than anyone in his actions and he knows such actions are not acceptable.

“He’s aware of that (his behaviour) more than anyone else, more than the media commentators, more than our supporters and more than I am.”

Scott also discusses:
Mackie going up forward
Brad Hartman’s improvement in VFL
And what players do when they’re on the bench
