Geelong star Joel Selwood has walked away with two awards at the AFLPA’s annual MVP night.

Selwood was named as the AFL’s best captain and also the most courageous player as voted by his peers.

He becomes the second Cat to win best captain award, following on from Tom Harley who was acclaimed by his peers in 2008.

Selwood tied as the most courageous player in 2012 and claimed the award outright this season. He has been voted as most courageous by his peers three times in his seven AFL seasons, a testament to his hardness and willingness to play the game the right way.

The Cats skipper also finished as runner up in MVP voting behind former teammate Gary Ablett.
