2013 Run Geelong
Help Geelong's skipper, Joel Selwood, lead the Cats in Geelong's largest charity race, Run Geelong.
This Sunday the Cotton on Foundation will have thousands of people congregating at Geelong’s Western Beach Road for the city’s largest charity run, Run Geelong.
Last year 11,750 people from in and around Geelong gathered together to push their bodies to the limit to help raise money for the Children’s Ward at the Geelong Hospital.
That one morning of the year meant that the redevelopment of Geelong’s ‘state of the art’ children’s ward could be completed.
Together everyone involved raised an incredible $503,000.
Again, the Geelong Cats are raring to participate in this fantastic event and they all hope to see you there. Don’t worry if you haven’t already registed there is still time to do so. To enter click here to Run Geelong’s website.
This year Geelong’s skipper, Joel Selwood, will be leading the Cats as a proud ambassador of Run Geelong, along with Australian netballer, Madison Browne and paralympic gold medalist, Richard Colman.
This year the money raised will go towards redeveloping the Special Care Nursery at the Geelong Hospital.
“After the success of 2012 and the completion of the Children's Ward at the Geelong Hospital, it's great to be tackling a new ward,” Selwood told www.rungeelong.com.au
I'm looking forward to the Geelong community coming together on the 17th of November to achieve something great; there's no feeling like it!”
Also if you decide to really show your colours on Sunday come dressed up in a CRAZY OUTFIT for your chance to WIN two tickets to watch the Cats play at Simonds Stadium, during the 2014 season!
