Cats look fit for testing
Cats TV caught up with Geelong's physio in the nib Medical Room for this week's injury update
Cats TV visited the nib Medical Room to join Geelong’s physio, Mike Snelling, for this week’s injury update.
This week Snelling will test a number of key players to see if they’ll be available for this week’s game against St Kilda, including Taylor Hunt, Mathew Stokes and Allen Christensen.
Ahead of last week’s clash against the Crows Hunt was pulled out of the squad after he rolled his ankle during training.
“Unfortunately on the day before the game he rolled his ankle when he trod on someones foot so we tested him at the ground and he didn’t obviously come up, so we then had to go through his rehab process this week and hopefully he’ll get up at the end of the week,” Snelling said.
Snelling felt confident about Stokes, who was tough enough to play out the match after receiving an innocuous hit to the ankle during last week’s game.
“He pulled up pretty well actually and I had a good look at him today and he’s pretty functional and will train on Thursday.”
“If he gets through everything there then we’ll test him for the weekend as well.”
Snelling also indicated that Paul Chapman could be put on the list for this week’s VFL game, after being taken off last Friday due to some discomfort in his hamstring.
“During training in his lead up to playing on Friday night he had an irritation in his left hamstring, it’s very minor and we expect him to go through the paces this week and he’ll be a test for this weekend in the VFL as well,” Snelling explained.
