Hearts go out to Menzel
Port Adelaide’s, Robbie Gray, who has recently returned from an ACL injury, said his heart goes out to Daniel Menzel
Port Adelaide’s, Robbie Gray, speaks about Daniel Menzel to journalist Harry Thring, after making his return from a severe ACL injury that left him out for a year.
Gray, who has recently recovered from a knee reconstruction after he injured himself during round four last year against Collingwood, couldn’t imagine how Menzel is feeling. He said his heart goes out to the Cats youngster as he comes to face his fourth operation.
However, Gray is confident that Menzel, who snapped his LARS graft during last weekend’s VFL game, will make a full recovery with the support from the Geelong Football club, as well as the surrounding football community.
"I saw that yesterday – devastating news ... certainly wish him all the best," Gray told Harry Thring.
"I couldn't imagine doing it four times, 12 months has been a fair while for me since I last got out on the park so to go through that three or four times must certainly be difficult.
"He's already come back from it three times now and this will be his fourth ... he'll get lots of support from the Geelong footy club and probably the whole football community."
