GEELONG defender Jake Kolodjashnij will take his place in the Cats’ senior side for the first time this season against the Demons on Sunday.
The Cats have made three changes, with Brandan Parfitt and Darcy Fort also named to return to the selected 22.
Quinton Narkle (omitted), Rhys Stanley (knee) and Harry Taylor (managed) will all make way after the side’s two-point loss at the hands of the Blues.
Parfitt’s return is a timely one for the Cats, who will hope he can regain the form of his 10-tackle and eight-clearance effort against the Hawks in Round 2 following a one match absence with hamstring soreness.
Fort has regained the number one ruck position after Rhys Stanley suffered a medial ligament injury to his knee in last week’s encounter with the Blues.
Fort won the pre-season ruck battle to take on the Giants in Round 1, before Stanley reclaimed his position for the resumption of play following the lockdown period.
Koldjashnij’s return to the side comes after his first competitive hit-out in 2020 last week for the Cats Reserves, after pre-season hip surgery derailed his start to the year.
Narkle will miss out on selection after nine consecutive games at senior level, starting in Round 21 of last year.
Narkle has been named as an emergency for the clash, alongside Jordan Clark, Lachie Henderson and James Parsons.
