Geelong recorded its first win of the VFL season with a comfortable 53 point victory over Werribee at Skilled Stadium.

Brent Prismall was best on ground with 38 disposals and Tom Lonergan kicked five goals in the win.

The Cats were able to master the windy conditions, converting on 20 of 28 scoring shots compared to the inaccurate Tigers who booted just 11 goals from 32 scoring chances.

Playing the first home game of the season, Geelong was led well by Prismall, who continues to push for a senior berth, and rookie Brodie Moles.

The Cats turned a 10 point half time lead into a 19 point edge at the last change before kicking away. An eight goal to two final quarter saw Geelong pull away for an easy win.

Geelong will face Tasmania in Hobert next Saturday.
