Cats keep focused
Andrew Mackie says this Saturday's game against Lions won't be treated any differently
This week on Argue the Toss Andrew Mackie and Hamish McIntosh joined Cats TV to discuss this week’s end-of-season clash against the Brisbane Lions at Simonds Stadium.
Mackie says the Cats need to tick off just as many things going into this week’s game than any other.
Having watched their performance on the weekend Mackie believes they have the potential to fire up like they did last time, however, this time the Cats are confident they won’t break through.
“I watched the Brisbane game on the weekend and they played some great footy.”
“They’ve got a lot of young talent coming through, Daniel Rich is a super player, Tom Rockliff and Jack Redden, you know they’ve got guys who break the lines and Pearce Hanley and we’re going to have to be on our game and not give them much time or space.
“Once we get the ball we’d like to give our forwards the best opportunity and we’ll try and get in there as quick as we can.
“Like we say every week there are a lot of things to cover off on but we’ll narrow our focus on this week and see what we can do.”
As Geelong head towards September McIntosh is looking forward to seeing how much more Steven Motlop can do in front of an atmospheric crowd during finals.
“The one I’m looking forward to the most is Stevie Motlop, I think he’s had an outstanding year and it’s probably he’s first full season body-wise and I’m looking forward to seeing him in September to see what he can do.”
“I’m sure he’s looking forward to the September stage and he’s a great asset for the club.”
