Team Changes
Geelong and North Melbourne have made a combined nine changes for the Round 10 clash with Joel Selwood, Rhys Stanley, Ben Brown and Jared Polec amongst the inclusions.
Key Match Ups
Rhys Stanley v Todd Goldstein
Rhys Stanley's return could not have come at a better time, with the Cats set to come up against the competition's highest ranked player this season.
Goldstein has been superb in the first nine rounds. He gets to more ruck contests than any other player in the game and is ranked second for total hitouts and fourth for hitouts to advantage.
What makes him so damaging is the impact he has when the ball hits the ground. He is currently ranked number one in the competition for total clearances and stoppage clearances per game.
However, this is an area of the game that Stanley will feel he can match with Goldstein. In his two games prior to getting injured he averaged five clearances per game and has the athleticism to match it with Goldstein around the ground.
Tom Hawkins v Robbie Tarrant
Two of the most consistent players of the past decade will resume their rivalry on Wednesday night.
Hawkins is due for a big performance after building some nice form in recent weeks. He has kicked 11 of his 16 goals in the past five games after a lean start to the first four games by his lofty standards.
He averages three goals per game against the Roos and in the absence of Esava Ratugolea and Gary Rohan, Hawkins will be be determined to lead from the front and put in a strong performance.
His likely opponent in Tarrant is one of the game's most underrated key defenders and their matchup should be a great contest.
Tom Stewart v Cameron Zurhaar
Tom Stewart reminded everyone of his importance to Geelong's backline when he produced his best showing of the season against West Coast.
He had 22 disposals and did a wonderful job reading the opposition's forward forays with 11 intercepts for the game.
Stewart is one of a handful of Cats that will likely rotate on North Melbourne forward Cameron Zurhaar at some stage throughout the game.
The 188cm Roo is a difficult matchup who is equally capable in the air, on the lead or when the ball hits the deck.
Zurhaar brings a bit of x-factor to the Kangaroos forwardline mix and after kicking three goals against the Crows he will enter the match with confidence.
