Geelong has brought veteran Andrew Mackie back for its final NAB Challenge clash against Fremantle in Perth on Saturday.

Mackie, who played in the Cats opening NAB Challenge clash against Collingwood at Simonds Stadium but was rested for the game against Essendon in Shepparton, will be joined in the 27-man squad by Jed Bews.

Out of the squad that was named to take on Essendon last week is defender Jackson Thurlow who will undergo a knee reconstruction, veteran Corey Enright and rookies Zac Bates and Jock Cornell.

For the third week of the NAB Challenge series teams are allowed to name a 27-man squad and a final side of 24 on the day.

The clash will be the Cats final hitout before taking on Hawthorn at the MCG on Easter Monday.

Captain Joel Selwood, speaking to CatsTV on Wednesday, was confident of taking his spot in the round one side despite not participating in the NAB Challenge series. Hear from the skipper in the video above.
