Speaking to SEN radio last night, first year Cat Josh Caddy assured listeners that there is no such thing as disciplinary problems at Kardinia Park.

After numerous suspensions over recent weeks, Caddy believes discipline isn’t the Cats’ downfall.

“I think with the Match Review Panel these days and a few rules changes over the past few years, some of the guys that have been playing a long time are getting found out for things they’ve probably done their whole careers.

“We do need to address it that for sure but I don’t think it’s a disciplinary problem.”

Despite the expertise and clever play of Jimmy Bartel and Steve Johnson, both have been rubbed out in recent weeks.

“In footy games sometimes things happen really really quick and instinct just takes over.

“They are very clever and I’m sure it won’t happen again.”

Caddy also believes Jimmy Bartel and Harry Taylor won’t be missing a snap kick for goal any time soon.

After both missing match-winning goals in the dying minutes of Sunday’s loss to Adelaide, Caddy said the game should not have come down to those shots for goal in the first place.

“We do practice it a fair bit  (the snap kick) and you could almost bet your bottom dollar that Jimmy Bartel and Harry Taylor will never miss another one in their careers.

“Unfortunately they did miss on the weekend but it doesn’t come down to those two guys missing, there were plenty of things that happened during the game that cost us in the end.”

After spending two years at the Gold Coast Suns and becoming a regular in their side last year, Caddy has transitioned into the club magnificently.

It has taken hard work to break into the senior side, but Caddy understands he is surrounded by champions of the game.

“Obviously the first half of the year was a little bit frustrating with a couple of injuries and some poor form which saw me go back to the VFL for a few games.

“Going back to the VFL for a little bit was really good for me and now I’m playing in the senior side and I think I’m giving a little bit more and playing my role pretty well.

“All the boys at Geelong are really good guys as well as footballers so it’s been really enjoyable.”
