THREE Geelong players are set to be inducted as AFL life members.
Full forward Tom Hawkins and former Cats Harry Taylor and Ken Hinkley will join an elite group of the league’s best and brightest names at the AFL’s annual general meeting in March.
The trio qualified for the honour by reaching 300 games as either player or coach, including pre-season games and international rules contests.
Taylor retired at the season’s end with 280 premiership games to his name, alongside 27 pre-season outings and two International Rules contests.
Hawkins has 277 premiership games to his name, as well as 24 pre-season matches and a State of Origin appearance last season.
Power Coach Ken Hinkley played 121 games for the Cats and served as an assistant coach at the club before 178 senior coaching games with Port Adelaide.
The trio of Cats are part of a group of 12 new life members, including Jack Riewoldt, Shannon Hurn, Travis Boak, Marc Murphy, Justin Westhoff, Matthew Clarke, Richmond Dircetor Emmett Dunne, Carlton administrator Shane O’Sullivan and boundary umpire Darren Wilson.
