Retiring Cats great Corey Enright has penned a letter to Cats members speaking of the thanks he has for those that helped him achieve one of football’s greatest careers.
The letter, which members received on Wednesday morning prior to the announcement of his retirement, saw Enright pay tribute to three groups of people who helped him on his way.
“Three of the key things that have enabled me to play 332 games for this magnificent club are my family and friends, my teammates (many of whom now fit firmly into that first group) and you, the members and supporters of the Cats.” Enright wrote.
Enright said after being drafted in 1999 what followed was “not in my most wildest dreams”.
Enright also spoke in the letter of the things he’ll miss most in retirement including a packed Kardinia Park, singing the song with the boys and what it meant to represent the Cats each and every week.
Enright finishes his career as the Cats games record holder.
