GEELONG'S team will be a hard lineup to break into this week after the Cats' huge win against Richmond in Round 8.
Ahead of this week's Round 9 clash with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Friday night, geelongcats.com.au highlights the players ‘In The Mix’, presented by Vital Strength.
From The Coach
The Cats are set to make at least one change for this week's game against the Saints with Sam Simpson set for a stint on the sidelines with a low-grade hamstring strain.
Coach Chris Scott revealed at Tuesday's press conference the players in contention for his spot.
“The ones in the mix are the ones you would have seen if you watched VFL game on Kayo, Max Holmes was the carryover so you wouldn’t have seen him but he is the frame, Jordan Clark, Charlie Constable, Quinton Narkle are probably the ones," Scott said.
Jordan Clark
Responded to his AFL omission in the best possible way with a dominant performance in Geelong’s 45-point win against the Northern Bullants on Thursday night.
Clark recorded a game-high 29 disposals (83% efficiency), eight tackles and six score involvements to push his case for an immediate recall to the senior team.
Darcy Fort
Fort was named in the Bendigo Bank Cats’ best for a third consecutive week after a dominant performance in the ruck and around the ground.
He finished with 28 disposals, 25 hitouts and eight marks. When he wasn’t setting up his teammates with hitouts to advantage he was following up at ground level with a game-high nine clearances. Fort also pushed forward to kick a goal. He couldn’t have done anymore to mount his selection case this week.

Josh Jenkins
Jenkins showed his class with seven goals in the VFL. He was simply too strong for his opponent, dominating the air with nine marks.
Unlikely to get an AFL opportunity while Tom Hawkins, Jeremy Cameron and Gary Rohan continue to hit the scoreboard, but will be ready to go should he be called on at some point this season.
Rhys Stanley
A late withdrawal against Richmond with Esava Ratugolea replacing him in the team. Could be called up this week to provide support in the ruck against Saints duo Paddy Ryder and Rowan Marshall.
Nick Stevens
Another impressive performance by the first-year Cat. Provided an avenue on the outside and off half back for the Cats with 17 of his 23 disposals uncontested.
Charlie Constable
Continues to find plenty of the footy at VFL level with a 22-disposals and five tackles against the Northern Bullants.
Sam De Koning
De Koning continues to grow with each performance and had a couple of nice moments against the Bullants, particularly in the air.
Finished with 2.1 and had eight score involvements from 17 disposals.
Ben Jarvis
Looked dangerous in attack kicking 1.3 but let himself down with a couple of set shot misses from straight in front.
