How will the Cats match up?
Herald Sun Journalist says the Cats could be in for a tough contest with Brisbane's bolstered line up
Cats TV asked James Kelly and Scott Gullan how they see the Cats matching up with the Brisbane Lions on Argue the Toss?
Without stating the obvious, Kelly felt that this week’s clash would be a test to see if Geelong can execute hard footy from start to finish.
He says the Cats goal for the second half of the season is to perform at an even higher level than their last.
“This may sound really stupid but we’ve just got to play well, and we know going up there is always a little bit harder,” Kelly told Cats TV.
“We want to go up there and play our best footy early and have a good start to the second half of the year.”
According to Gullan, the Brisbane Lions will be a tough act to beat on their home ground.
He says the Lions will show a lot more confidence this week with the return of many key players, including skipper Jonathan Brown and defender Daniel Merrett.
“Daniel Merrett is back from suspension, so is Jonathan Brown so instantly that team looks a lot better and Black had an illness last week,” Gullan said.
“You can’t treat them too easily because the core is there and their kids can catch fire.”
