Henry injured his foot against the Hawks.

GEELONG is awaiting scans to learn the extent of the foot injury that ended Jack Henry’s afternoon against Hawthorn.

Henry had surgery during the pre-season on a bone stress injury in the same foot before he was subbed out of Monday's clash after stepping on an opponent's boot.

“Jack had an acute injury on the same foot as he had his previous injury during the pre-season,” head of medical and conditioning services Harry Taylor says.

"We’ll take a cautious approach with his reloading and get some further imaging done to investigate further."

Hard-running wingman Sam Menegola is nearing a return to play after he was concussed while playing in the VFL on April 2.

“Sam is reintegrating into full contact training,” Taylor says.

"He’s building his loads following the concussion protocols.”

The Cats medical and conditioning team is pleased with the progress of three young Cats who are reaching milestones in their reconditioning.

Flynn Kroger (hip) will return to full training later this week, while James Willis (knee) has been reintegrated into football drills and Toby Conway (hip) continues to build his loads.

Kroeger is returning to full training.

Patrick Dangerfield and Jed Bews will be watched closely this week after receiving hits against the Hawks.

“Patrick Dangerfield had a cork in the game, relatively early in the contest and managed to play out the game,” Taylor says

“We’ll monitor him throughout the rest of the week."

“Jed Bews got a knock on his shoulder. We expect him to be available this week."

Gary Rohan is continuing to progress well as he works towards full fitness after spending much of the pre-season sidelined with hip and back sciatica.

Jonathon Ceglar (foot), Quinton Narkle (ankle) and Sam Simpson (concussion) are working through their respective reconditioning plans.
