POSITIVE scans mean that Geelong is yet to rule a line through dependable defender Jake Kolodjashnij ahead of its fourth consecutive Preliminary Final clash.
Kolodjashnij bravely battled through a knee injury suffered in the second term of Saturday's clash with the Magpies after being brought down awkwardly in a tackle.
The reliable Cat was eventually replaced by Mark O'Connor later in the term.
"We have had positive news, with subsequent scans showing a tibiofibular joint injury that the Medical & Conditioning team will treat and manage accordingly," head of medical and conditioning services Harry Taylor says.
"Jake’s availability for the Preliminary Final will be determined closer to the game."
Kolodjashnij has been a fixture in Geelong's defence, playing 17 games or more every season since 2016.
Coach Chris Scott commended his defender's willingness to do the team thing post game.
"It was a brave effort because he wanted to push through, but it was also the right thing and the courageous thing for him to do to put his hand up and say that's it," Scott said.
The Cats await the winner of Melbourne and Brisbane's Semi Final clash this Friday night.
