GEELONG has named an unchanged team for its Preliminary Final against Brisbane at the MCG on Friday night at 7.50pm.
It will be a huge occasion for both clubs with the winner to advance to this year's Grand Final where they will play the victor of the second Preliminary Final between Sydney and Collingwood.
Three Cats will reach significant career milestones on Friday night.
Defender Jed Bews will celebrate his 150th game for the club after being taken as a father/son selection back in 2011, Coach Chris Scott will notch up his 500th AFL game as a player and a coach, and Joel Selwood will equal Michael Tuck’s record for the most finals played.
Geelong and Brisbane last met in Round 4 with the Cats 10-point winners on that occasion, but both sides have evolved their games since then.
Senior coach Chris Scott is confident in his team's preparation this time around.
"We go in feeling really confident in our preparation and really running on top of the ground. The guys that needed extra work have got it, the guys that needed a freshen up have got it," Scott said at Thursday morning's press conference at GMHBA Stadium.
"We feel a level of anxiousness that every competitor feels going into these games but really confident in our preparation."
Brandan Parfitt, Mark O'Connor, Sam Menegola and Jonathon Ceglar will be in contention to be the medical substitute which will be announced an hour prior to the first bounce.
Gates will open at the MCG from 6pm. For those watching at home the match will be televised on channel Seven and Fox Footy, or you can listen to the live call on Krock Football.
