Nina Morrison’s availability for Saturday’s clash with West Coast Eagles will be determined by Thursday night following surgery on her finger.
Morrison underwent successful surgery on Monday following an open dislocation of her finger during Sunday’s game against Essendon in Warrnambool.
After receiving attention on the bench during the second quarter, Morrison was able to play out the game.
The club will monitor her progress during the week, with a call to be made on her availability for Round 8 following Thursday night’s training.
After Renee Garing returned to availability last week to be named in the emergencies for Geelong, the Cats may get another player back in Rachel Kearns this week.
“Rachel passed her final testing barrage. She is cleared for full training this week, and if no issues arise during the week, will be available for selection this weekend,” Geelong AFLW head physiotherapist Erin Nelson said.
The Cats take on West Coast Eagles this Saturday at Ikon Park, with first bounce at 5.40pm.
